Mega Man Corner / Your favourite Mega Man game?

I honestly can't just pick one, but obviously both are my favorites from each perspective series. I haven't really played too many games in the Zero series or Battle Network Series, and I have yet to play any game in the Starforce series.

Megaman 8 truly is an underappreciated gem. Great boss battles and probably my favorite weapon selection in Classic.

My favorites of all time are the first three MMX games, with MM6, BN2 and Z4 being my favorites from their respective series. I don't care much for Star Force //  ZX and I've never played Legends.

Got any love for the classic series?  Just wondering.  I know that for most people it falls into the gray area usually because of how hard it was.

*EDIT*

I see that you chose Mega Man 6!  Great choice.  I always liked the ideas of the robot masters being from different countries.  I remember insisting that my mom enter the contest for the robot masters when i was a kid.

I like the Classic series better than X when it comes to gameplay because its quality is a lot more consistent. At the same time, the games are more similar to each other so it's hard to pick ONE favorite. I'd probably choose 3, 4, 6 and 8 though. I played very little Megaman 9 but it looked like one of the best Classic games out there.

As for 6, it was my first NES Classic game so the fact that it's one of the easiest helped me a lot into learning how to deal with the simpler controls and the like. It also has some of my favorite Robot Masters battles (Yamato, Tomahawk and Flame) and the music is absolutely fantastic and underrated.

Quote from: ShiroyamiI second this. It's not as if Inafune doesn't care about what we think... it's more about having a healthy balance between backer feedback and their freedom to develop the game as they see fit. Besides, as far as actual game development is concerned, they have a team full of veterans who might as well understand what the fans want better than the fans themselves.

That's not what Inafune said in the article. He's saying that what he will do with MN9, he does not care if we will like it, even if it goes against our wishes. He hopes it will surprise us, but the lack of communication and acceptance of feedback, only shows he is determine to see his creation, regardless of our input. Which is why the title of this post is: "Inafune never required backers involvement". Not that "he does not care what we we think," but that our feedback is unnecessary, since he will still make the game, even if the community manager hired was an incorrect choice.

IoW: He has not needed our feedback, but he wishes not to depend our our money, which was required to make the game.

This is why on future backing projects, he might not be able to succeed from those that learned that Keiji cannot listen to his supporters. Something incredibly ironic of his speeches.

I think someone said it earlier: Keiji is on his end of life crisis, and he is trying to accomplish all the little things he always wanted to do, regardless of what everyone else thinks.

If you want to believe that he is thinking for you, go ahead. I am not delusional to assume someone can think for me of what I like. The staff are veterans at their craft, but not market trends, and markets' taste. There's a reason why they call these 2D action platformers, Retro games, and it's not because they look pixelated.  :ugeek:

Of course Inafune, being the man behind the project, calls the shots with Mighty No.9 but bear in mind that comcept still has the obligation to deliver the game as promoted during the Kickstarter campaign. I mean, even if he was free to do whatever the hell he wants with our money, what's stopping him from making the game as intended? So far, there's nothing suggesting that the game's turning out to be any different from what we were promised in the first place.

The Kickstarter itself is enough proof that their team knows what they're doing. They can't read our minds to know exactly what we want nor the magical powers to please absolutely everyone but if they really had no idea of what would appeal to the market, the Kickstarter wouldn't have raised as much money as it did. That's the whole point of veterans in the first place. In a way, they don't need to be told what we want because they know it better than anyone else.

Now, I agree that the forums that were supposed to be a connection between backers and comcept is a disaster due to the poor community management. I agree that his faith in Dina is ridiculously misplaced given her work so far. Maybe he's just trying to put up a brave front or maybe he actually doesn't know what's going on and chances are he really doesn't care about what the backers think.

There's a chance that you're 100% right about his end-life crisis without any regards for what people want anymore. At the same time, in my opinion, it feels too circumstantial to be taken at face value, especially how people are just dying to turn anything comcept says against them with the forum issues and whatnot.

Quote from: ByasI think that in this interview's context, this quote isn't something as bad as never caring about the community, just about ignoring things that wouldn't fit well into the game but are wanted by part of the community for whatever the reason. Although I can understand why it could be interpreted as such if you consider the whole situation on the forums (I'm still mad at how the hell anyone in their right mind thought that forum system was "alright" or "good enough").

I second this. It's not as if Inafune doesn't care about what we think... it's more about having a healthy balance between backer feedback and their freedom to develop the game as they see fit. Having never played a Genesis to listen to songs that were meant to be played with its soundchip, I still find it hard to compete against the SNES. The SNES is pure genius.

Quote from: 56008Good call, cause I wouldn't be surprised if you need those emails in the future.

As for the exclusive forum access, I think it's safe to say that a lot of us are pretty disappointed with it.  I mean, look at this forum.  It's perfectly functional and I didn't  have to pay a cent to use it!  Is the $5 going towards exclusive information?  It seems like half the stuff gets leaked to the media before it even gets to us!  I...I just don't get it.

Nothing would surprise me at this point. I don't know a thing about creating websites but I'm pretty sure that an user database is essential no matter how you look at it. Sure, no one would've noticed a thing if it weren't for KS being hacked but still.

Yeah, it surprises me how this forum surpasses the official paid one in just about every aspect. That and if the official forums are going to suck, the least they could've done is to make the information there accessible only to backers or an early access, even. The way things are, hanging around there is a waste of time.

Quote from: TrueMightyNo9fanAt the least you were responded that they are looking into it. Hopefully we get word soon. I am ready to push the button.

[...]

For me it was the promised feedback they said they were going to consider, or community involvement. I am still infuriated that they are just toying with us.

That's what you get for not getting into trouble with the mods, I guess.

I'm not too vocal about my concerns or opinions and I'm sure the game'll awesome even without feedback but I do understand why people are angry about it.

I deleted my Kickstarter account before receiving their responses but I do have the confirmation/payment e-mails so if push comes to shove, I'll have more than enough proof I backed the project.

I mean, I wasn't even going to pledge any money because I knew they're get more than enough money without my contribution... but in the end, the exclusive forum access tempted me so i went ahead and gave them U$20 to guarantee myself a copy of the game. Since the forums are pretty much unusable at this point...

I just received a response from comcept and...

Spoiler
Quote from: MeQuick question: does deleting your Kickstarter account compromise your future rewards for backing Mighty No.9 in any way?

After the recent database leak on the site, I decided to delete my account since its only purpose was to back Mighty No. 9 and I have saved all e-mails related to the backing process from comcept, Amazon and Kickstarter.

Thank you for your time,

Mighty No 60130, Shiroyami

Quote from: ResponseHello Mighty Shiroyami,

We're currently looking into a way around the issue and will inform you of the result asap.

We would like for you to receive your rewards, of course, so we are working towards that.

Thank you for your patience,

The Mighty No. 9 Team

...not exactly the response I was expecting. I assumed their database was more than enough to identify backers and the like.

Quote from: ShiroyamiDeleting your Kickstarter account does nothing to your future rewards from projects you've already backed, right?
Unless comcept is dumb enough not to keep a copy of all the email accounts that donated to the kickstarter, then your rewards are set in stone.

Email them to be sure:

mightyno9[at]comcept.jp

info{at}comcept.co.jp

I assume they are going forward with the original donation account, not the one in the forums. I know of at least 4 people that have gotten email from comcept with the original donation email, not the forum one.

And confirm with us back, I am interested on their answered, since I plan to do the same as MechaGS on this.

We do get e-mails from comcept from time to time (login information, Call Vote polls) so it'd be weird if they didn't. I don't think there'll be any problems. I'll send them an e-mail just in case.

I don't stick with services that can't look after their users. They make so much money but their systems are lousy and out-right retarded in some cases.

Deleting your Kickstarter account does nothing to your future rewards from projects you've already backed, right?

Not at all! :)

As I thought. I haven't been able to confirm that for myself so thanks for the info.

Personal Discussions / How are you currently feeling?
February 17, 2014, 12:34:50 AM
I'm... conflicted. I've been admitted into one of the best private law schools in Brazil and my experience there's been great so far, even if I'm still getting the hang of how college works and the like.

On the other hand, my 'skills' are better suited for Psychology, which is one of the courses I've been aiming for over the years. I wasn't admitted into any public schools for the third year so I feel the past two years in prep school were absolutely wasted.

Problem is, my main interest in law stems from the criminal areas... and justice is an absolute joke here in Brazil. My main goal is to become an investigator no matter what but the encouragement in my country is next to none.

How Umineko and DanganRonpa make electronic/trance/whateveryoucallit fit just right in debate and logic is something I'll never know but damn.
