So for those who don't know me I'm big into mecha, so I'm going to compile a list of shows that are mecha related and whatnot. BE WARNED: I am someone who does not mind old animation nor do I mind motw fights, and a LOT of earlier mecha is that, I'll list the series, and the worthwhile stuff you should read or watch concerning it, please note all shows I've watched are subbed and I recommend subs over dub because dubs tend to scrub things

I watched Aura Battler Dunbine some time ago and i liked it but was disappointed with some things.



I wish Dunbine's characters were way more developed and some of them had more exposition (like Princess Elmelie, who at one point seemed likely to become one of the new main pilots but was shortly after sent to the background, and some of the other crew members).

Not to mention there're many characters that barely served any purpose (like most of Shou and Marvel's friends in the upper world, the person who rescued Todd and seemed to be important, Keen after the first episodes, etc).



I know like many other tv series it didn't had the luxury of big budget animation (besides for the openings), but they could've done the main characters better.

Fuck Neal man! His character is one of the most inconsistent ones: "I love Elmelie!" "Wait no, i like Marvel" "Just kidding, i liked Elmelie all this time!" "What? She got captured again? I'm going to blame her for that and ignore her for the rest of the series until she gets killed"). Shou almost pulls the same shit with Queen Ciela and Marvel but unlike Neal he wasn't in a relationship with anyone in Byston Well so it's fair game.



By the time the series ended the only characters i really found likeable were Cham, Bern and Elmelie. The others faded into obscurity during the plot or lacked enough development or charisma to keep my interest.



Didn't like how Shou ditched the Dunbine so nonchalantly either.

Was expecting more of Shot Weapon too.



But if there's something nobody can deny is that the opening is superb

you should watch Heavy Metal L-Gaim, the cahracters are more or less protos of zeta gundam characters





also cham's VA comes back to voice yet another fairy like creature (lillith), both Cham and Lillith look identical and I think in SRW OE they mention this

only time I remember seeing it was on toonami when they showed it, never knew about a second half, I just saw enough to go "yeah fuck this"

Sad, I'd recommend giving it another shot in JP voicing.  May or may not help that Captain and Shute are Tieria and Regina in 00.
