Quote from: MechaGSShame the donation news wasn't true, I'd have loved to see Capcom putting something forward considering they can't even make a decent Mega Man style game these days.

I'm sure we'll be seeing him in other indie titles and stuff eventually. Inafune-san seems ready to embrace both the fans and the developers at large.

Despite his harsh criticisms of the Japanese game industry, I think he just wants to help make it better, and maybe helping the indie scene reach the level of popularity in Japan as it has done in America and Europe is what he needs to do, and not just with Mighty No. 9.

I think his harsh criticism is what's driving him on to make a difference. Japan is a very harsh place at times and I'm sure that translates to many of the bigger industries like anime, manga and gaming.

He's seen a hole in the way they're doing it and he's showing them how to correct it. Not everything needs to be shown of course, but hiding everything behind lock-and-key isn't the way to do good business either. Inafune-san has proven that well over the last week.

I'm hoping that companies like Square Enix and Capcom see the eventual benefits of working with the fans, (both in Japan and around the world) as it can lead to some great innovation and ideas. :)

On Topic: I'm sure that if Nintendo or Sakurai-san approach Comcept to use Mighty No. 9 he'll be included in whatever they're making. But I'm also sure that'll happen when indie's want to pay homage too. It will be interesting to see how they handle it all down the line.

You mentioned that if Beck were to appear in SSB4, Capcom would immediately pull Mega Man due to a 'conflict of interest'. I doubt they would as Mighty No. 9 isn't a threat to Mega Man's existence, he's more a testament to it.

That is indeed a possibility, but I don't think they would be as rational as we're both imagining right now Weejus. :)

We'll never know though and Nintendo usually keep it to one special character for each game.

As much as I support Mighty No. 9, I don't want Beck near Smash 4.

Sakurai is extremely conservative of third-parties and will only consider who he considers to be the best of the best. Snake, Sonic and Mega Man are all legendary gaming icons and as such have earned their spot into Smash. Beck's game is nowhere near completion and we have to remember that he is third-party and a minor one as well. There are many, many third-parties that would be emphasized above Beck for inclusion in Super Smash Bros. 4 and any third-party not named Sonic, Snake, Mega Man and Pac-Man have horrible chances.

I don't mind if you want Beck in Smash, but it isn't happening.
