General Grand Theft Auto Topic

Well, with today being the release of Grand Theft Auto V, I thought it would be a good idea to add a place to discuss the past, present and future of the iconic franchise.



Here's a funny fact, I live 20 minutes away from Rockstar North, the home of the GTA and Red Dead franchises. I get to go past their offices at least a twice a month.



So, which GTA is your favorite of all time? I have to vote for Vice City, I loved that game and it's atmosphere. The music was legendary in that game too. :beckcool

That's awesome you live close to the company! As for me my favorite is probably San Andreas, I thought it was cool that the main character could swim as well as get fat and or skinny depending on what you would do. xD Also it takes place in the early 90's IIRC and the 90's is one of my favorite decades.  :beckcool

I loved San Andreas. Carl was one of the most likable characters in the GTA universe.



Wait until you see San Andreas now though in GTA5. It's a whole new ball-game.

Well I had GTA IV and I hated it, but I've heard nothing but good things about GTA V so I MIGHT get it, but I'm more likely to get Pok?mon X.

I want Pokemon X but it's on the back-burner for now.



GTA V is a big step-up from IV though. The characters are much more likeable, the missions are more varied, there's lots more to do & see and there's none of that "hey cousin, want to go *insert random event"! :beckveryhappy

I'm still debating on if I will get it, but Pokemon X doesn't exist to me since I don't like the Legendary, instead I'm getting Y. However one of my co workers actually traded in one of his favorite games for GTA 5 and it must be pretty good since they earned 800 million dollars in one freaking day. xD

I'm around 40% through and I still can't put the controller down. They've honestly out-done themselves this time and I don't know how they'll top it.

Oh wow dude, I'm sure you're not the only one who's almost half way finished with the game. I wonder how many more games they'll make in the future... I guess only time will tell and I don't know how they'll top it either.

I just completed GTA V and it's probably going to end up being my game of the year. I've not had that much fun in a long time.

I need to get this game so bad... The Online launches in 2 days. I cannot friggin wait to get online and play with my friends, especially since I don't see them much at all.

I'm not too fussed about the Online bit yet. I'll take a look but I've never bought a GTA game to play the online portion.

Well, you gotta take into account how the online is being run now.



It's the Full GTAV game, just online, and without the story missions. You can do everything you can do in the normal game, without restrictions. You can plan heists, do missions, create missions, start or join gangs, or just run around and just waste time like most people do with the regular, except now it can be done with friends.



I dunno how GTAIV did online, but V's sounds kickass to the extreme.



That, and I actually have a TON of friends that I can play it with, and we are planning to start our own crew. Granted, I won't have the online when it launches, but once I get the game, I'll be joining the crew and we are just gonna wreck everything. XD

I own all of the Grand Theft Auto's on the Playstation 1 and 2 to the Xbox 360 apart from Grand Theft Auto V which i will get soon
