So i just came across a very interesting article. Inafune just recently had a interview and stated that he wouldn't mind it if Capcom was to publish mn9. You can read about it here. http://www.at7addak.com/article/s/517969158

I'm hoping that the article is wrong really. Having a publisher of any sort on the project would mean that everyone gave their money for nothing and I don't want to see that happen.

I also wouldn't want it to be a Mega Man game. I like Beck and want to see him come to life. :D

On the one hand, as long as the game wasn't touched by Capcom and it allowed Inafune to make Mega Man games, it could work, plus it shows that the Kickstarter's purpose was not to give Capcom the middle finger (which Inafune has spelt out a couple of times) However, given that it would essentially meant the crowdfunding is useless and that Mega Man should be Capcom's problem to fix and not Inafune's, it'd be for the best if this didn't happen.

Don't spread FUD:

it would still have to be our IP, which is what we want. I can?t foresee that happening. We really want this to be our thing.

Just like publishing books, you have the files ready, they print them. That's all. Simple transaction. Of course, you can always self publish, they have the money now. However, their intentions are DIGITAL copies only, which includes the various forms. IoW, people have to burn their own disks and media to play them in said console of choice.
Spoiler
I thought it obvious, I am not so sure anyone has gotten it.

But Keiji himself has been preaching everywhere, I know he is not even considering the thought of even giving ANY right to Capcom:

Looks like the source server is out:

I did not see that he was going to neogaf for an interview on this twitter account. I am doubting the legitimacy of the news for now.

PS

You are welcome to spread this comment everywhere, really. I am not risking a password compromise posting on http://www.at7addak.com/article/s/517969158 . PS I love LIVE stories.

I'll keep an eye on my game informer, I just know this better not be true.

Just check the reponces we followed back, they summerize my point:

QuoteI just wanted to confirm to everyone not to fret. ???? is just looking at possible candidates to publish the hard copies. So it's actually good news, if the interview did occur.

I'll visit my local Gamestop to see if they have a copy, to confirm with tomorrow.
Spoiler
Weren't they the same company that bought the rights to Xenoblade Chronicles? Fucking hell, they are. The musical score is so great in the game, and they had to play the low-copies game to rip off more profits. Screw them.
