So, was having a bit of computer troubles. My laptop died. Like, literally, it died. Motherboard fried itself at total random. No idea why yet. But anyways, I'm returned. Finally, got a new laptop.

So, what happenings have I missed here while I was roaming around in Internet Purgatory?

TheRaven

Bleh that sucks, computer problems are never fun. Great to see you back though. :D There's been tons of drama on the official forums, which caused many members to get banned for no apparent reason. Those members, including members from other parts of the net have made their way here. It's a lot to take in but that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

NinjablazerZero

Sounds like an adventure.

Despite being so excited for those dev boards to open, I haven't been very active there. I think my post count is still actually below 10. I dunno, I think it's because of how messy and unorganized the boards look. The layout is just so, bleh...

Swan Dive

Sounds like they are really inexperienced with forums over at the official site.

Motherboard fried? Now that's annoying. Hope your hardrive is still intact. Anyway, welcome back.

That would be an understatement.

Swan Dive

In all my years playing with computers I never had a motherboard fry out (though I lost a graphics card and DVD drive before), but just the though of it sends shivers down my spine.  That reminds me, I should do a backup ASAP, it's been a few months!

I really hope Inafune-san addresses the forum concerns soon, I'd not want his legendary name to be stained because of all the shenanigans going on there.

TheCloudyEye

There is a podcast coming soon with director Koji Imaeda, though I doubt they would address any forum concerns. They have been avoiding the problem like plague ever since the beginning.

This is all just conjecture on my part but from the research that myself and a few others from this forum have done, Comcept have no powers over what happens with the official forums. That's 8-4 and DDM's territory.

I don't think we'll ever see it improve to a better system. We may get new features on there but with how lacking it is... the game will be out before it's finished.

Seens like that link doesn't quite work.

And I'm not too concerned about the forums. Any fanbase is fickle and quick to become angry and unreasonable for even the slightest misstep. Sometimes it's not even a misstep, just the fanbase feels like stirring up trouble anyways.

The dev forums were meant as a way for the dev team to get info to us, and for us to talk amongst ourselves, and the occasional messages from the dev team that there's gonna be a community vote. If anything the most the dev team and any big higher ups do is just guage reactions for feedback. I'm pretty sure a totally different team that is not part of development itself is who is managing the boards, so any problems there would be between the fans, and whoever is incharge there.

But ehh, what more can you say. Not everything is perfect.

Swan Dive

True, I never saw a forum that didn't have it's own problems.  There is plenty of ban happy mods and rambunctious forum members out there on other forums!  Take League of Legends forum for the opposite example...the members RULE that place.

The link doesn't work for you 'cause I posted it in the Backer's only forum, and TrueMightyNo9Fan forgot about it. I can PM you if you want to know.

NinjablazerZero

My curiosity was piqued, of course I'd like a PM!

My bad. Thanks again TheCloudyEye

And I personally wished the forums was like previous dev rooms. But this one has not been, in the slightest. Heck, on the last Call Contest, the used survey monkey again,  more than 70% the people did not get the email, and the totals votes are no where to be found.

And and there are still people without their Mighty nos.:
