So what do you guys think of the Nintendo 2DS? Personally, I think it's a good idea for gamers and parents alike who can't afford the original 3DS or the 3DSXl. Many people complain about the clamshell not being present, but in order to make an affordable portable they needed to sacrifice a few things. There is only one speaker, and like the gameboy in order to play games with stereo sound you would have to wear earphones. I think it's cool it's retro like and can still play all the 3DS and DS games like the previous models. I'm okay with this, but I won't get one since I already own a 3DS. :)

I think Nintendo are going tech-nuts. They need to be careful with naming and how many versions they're putting out of specific styles of technology.

Parent's didn't understand the Wii, a lot don't really understand the Wii U. The 2DS will probably sound odd to even more people who don't keep up with gaming. As much as I love Nintendo, I wish they would get some business sense going at their HQ.

You are indeed correct, i'm sure parents will be asking "where are the 2DS games at?" in retailers. :V There's a joke link going around introducing the "Nintendo 1DS" that links to a 3DS page. It's been floating around on Facebook all day today. xD

I seen that, for around 10 mins I thought the 1DS was real lol!

It was pretty obviously marketed for kids. The thing about 3DS is that prolonged exposure to 3D can make eyes tired and strain. Young kids eyes are developing so extensive exposure to 3DS can potentially damage their eyes. The 2DS was mainly made to offset this risk. Really wish they would have named it in a way that wouldn't confuse customers, though.

It looks different to the 3DS and i just don't like the way they have not put a flip screen on this handheld here's a pic so you can see what i mean

The omission of the flip was an interesting one but they finally said why they've done that. It's only one big screen, it just loads two different sets of streams inside the console.

Weird choice but I bet the battery life will be way longer because of it. :P
