I've been getting into indie games recently, especially when they feel like metroid-vania games (stuff like Rogue Legacy). So, I offer up one that I've been loving for the past few days called Valdis Story: Abyssal City.



Context:

Over 40 years ago, the goddess Valdis was killed by her daughter, the dark goddess Myrgato. Since this event Myrgato has been at war with her twin sister, Alagath the goddess of light. This perpetual war is fueled by human souls that the gods use to create their warriors; Myrgato twisting souls into demons, and Alagath manipulating souls to create angels. Each day the remaining human population dwindles as they are forced to choose a side or die.

My Thoughts:

I've not finished it yet, but the story and the art style are awesome. I recommend this game to those who like Metroid-vania games and a little challenge to boot. The game has many difficulties and 2 playable characters (more coming soon). Give the demo a shot!
