Hello, I just joined the site, I didnt see any topic about this, nor do I know if I should making a topic here but....

Is there anyway to get anymore physical copies since the kickstarter ended?

MechaGS

I thought they would have kept the Paypal option open for buying physical copies but I see it's been removed.

I guess they've decided not to continue on this offer.

TheRaven

Yeah unfortunately they won't be accepting any more donations now so unless if they decide to have a contest or something else i don't think you'll be able to get a physical copy. Not unless if they sell discs alongside digital copies. You'll have to wait and see. :\

I really did want to get a physical copy of this game; however, considering that my laptop can't upgrade my shoddy videocard and I refuse to upgrade my computer just for one game, I had to skip out. Had a PS3/PS4 version been made available physically, I definitely would have gotten it.

I'd have paid for one (or both) of those. Would have been cool to have an official box for consoles. :P

I'd wish the physical devices were not Steam DRM installers. It was confirmed on

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mig ... nt-4404483

I don't have the exact #anchor, but you can view the source to get it.

My wishes would have been:

? TOTALLY DRM FREE DEVICES, using a SQLite DB to patch the game if it is outdated. The users should have the final say if they should upgrade or not.

? Access to the source code at the end or near beta release, maybe the repository so that B?ckers can add ports and patches (MIPS & ARM architecture ports)

? A p2p COOP network, not central server communication. However central meeting places are optional. You can do F2F and the regular P2P Distributate Hash Tables to find available players. DHTs that can be used: Kademlia, Gnutella, Koorde Chord, Tapestry, Pastry, etc. Support for I2P is optional. Suggestions for transmit the packets: SILC, PSYC, STOMP, XMPP(not my choice), SIP (for the desperate)

But thinking about, If I had gotten the USB, and I can do what I like with the 2GB SSD:

I could have just overwritten it with my DRM free version. Oh well, I can make my own:

Spoiler
I seen even smaller ones using USB micro B @ 64GB sold at walmart, I was like WTFF

I don't think any company would hand out the source code to their latest game, especially one just made that will be made purchaseable on Steam, etc. It would be career suicide. Of course, they could release an API for mods, etc but they'll never release any source.

I do agree that the USB copies should have been DRM free. It would have been a nice gesture not locking people into Steam but at the end of the day, it's all about making money.

Well, in the honour of Kickstater, they should allow at the very least API access so that the B?ckers could make ports. As long as they are not disobeying this guideline I am fine:

Quote? Kickstarter cannot be used to fund e-commerce, business, and social networking websites or apps.

This is why I motioned several times to use indiegogo.com or fundable.com. Kickstarter was built for projects, not general crowd-funding or companies. If it was the true intention of Inafune-san to make this a project, then I salute his success. However, I smelled the same thing:

Their upgrade reasoning sounds fishy, when there are MANY patch distributions methods out there:

pkgng, pkgsrc, and ipkg being my favs. so far

If anything I have a feeling that someone out there could possibly figure out how to crack the game, just like how people can make mods of Sonic Generations. And if this was to be, and just maybe if Comcept was okay with that they could do what ID did with Doom and release tools to modify the game. Or fans who knew the format of various things such as level layouts, could program an editor.

MechaGS

The good news is that the Unreal Engine already has public editing tools, so it shouldn't be too hard for them to tap into that for mods, levels, etc.

That's if they want to though, I know they're trying to be different from Japanese norms but usually they're quite 'locked up' when it comes to allowing mod tools.

Both true. Its a cultural thing they have yet to adapt to. For them, it might be the first exposure to F.L.O.S.S.

Someone recommended me Allegro library, but I have not taken a look. They also told me to take a look at sfml, but I took my eyes of it since I was using SDl at the time.
There's like SO may engines that they could have used:

I am fine if they pick a Proprietary one to make demos and the workload efficient; especially if they are so used to using Unreal. Meh, I know we can hack, but why make it a hassle. When you remove the entry barrier, the fandom always support the work, and extends beyond its original feature set.

What was that new awesome sonic 3d engine? Sonic blitz3d unleashed? Sorry, off topic.
