The D-pository 2: Official Villainous Call D Campaign Thread

This is a reposting of the first Call D campaign thread on the official Mighty No. 9 backer forum. Since the boards are currently for backers only, I figured that making a thread here could help us to reach a few more people.







If you've been observing the Mighty No. 9 community, you've likely noticed by now that the idea of any of Call?s many fantastic designs being cast off into the scrap heap doesn't sit well with a lot of us. Though we?re all aware of the inevitability of the situation, the decision process being one of elimination, many of still want to preserve those lost designs in some fashion because we see some kind of potential in them, some element to their designs that we think are worth keeping and using.



This particular thread exists because Vince, the creator of the wonderful piece of art above, and I have these same feelings, and we've decided to do something about it by focusing our efforts on giving one design in particular a second chance: Call D.



Our wish is a simple and undemanding one. All we want is for Mr. Inafune and the rest of the team to consider using the Call D design as the basis for a new, but minor character. Whoever our big bad villain happens to be, we like the idea of putting a cute right-hand robot at their side, similar to what?s depicted in the art shown above. The new, Call D-based, character will perform minor tasks for the main villain: piloting their escape vehicle, pressing their big red self-destruct buttons, maybe getting just one mini-boss vehicle to herself, and etc. We don?t want the implementation of this to interfere with the intentions of the developers in any major way, so they are free to modify the design and the exact nature of the role as they see fit, with only one exception: the Wily-inspired hairstyle.



As for what?s to be done until the day comes when we get the final verdict on our proposal? What else but to show our collective support in this thread! Anyone who is in support of this idea is welcome to come here for discussion, to share art, or just to make it known that they?re a supporter of the campaign. Furthermore, if you do decide to support the campaign, we encourage you to show your support wherever you go on these forums to let others know about it. We suggest creating a, preferably unobtrusive, signature to place after your posts to let others know that this thread and campaign exist. It?s a simple method, but if enough people agree to do it, it will also be a very effective one.

Hey Weeg! I showed my support  over on the official forums, but decided to sign up here as well. As I said on the thread, if anyone has any knowledge of adobe flash a little campaign could be made to expand knowledge and support for this awesome cause. Just an idea heh.

I'm sure this character will be a big hit if she gets passed on to Inafune-san, etc. The idea is sound and she has that Wily look about her that people loved so much.



She definitely looks like she was meant to be a villian, so here's hoping she gets her chance.
