Call Vote (Part 2)

Well, it's upon us again. The Call vote has gone live for beckers. Here's what we have to choose from:



Call E, by freelance artist Hideki Ishikawa

I gotta go with F, she's the cutest out of the few we get to pick from. I also think this design goes well with Beck's design as well. ^_^ I'll head over to the official forum and vote.

I was going to go for either E or F but now I don't like E. She looks like an air hostess more than ever and I personally feel that doesn't fit for me. I can't even imagine her as a playable character in that get-up.



Funnily enough, I like H's design now. She got "Tails" hair and I love it being a Sonic fan. I'm going to go for F like I did in the first poll. She's the only one worth it here now.

xD She does have Tails hair, never noticed that before! But yeah I agree with design E, doesn't fit a video game of this genre IMO.  All I could imagine her saying is "Would you like a pillow sir?" xD

I voted for Call F but I wouldn't mind if E got a chance. At first I didn't like her at all but she looks a lot better colored.

While I voted for F, I like the fact that people like E. It will certainly make this interesting in the end.

Yeah, the last vote had some problems with that.



And as for Call's, I voted for F, but I hope that people take into mind that the color scheme's aren't final yet, as I saw some people unhappy about E's color palette.

Agreed. A little bit of rivalry encourages both sides to improve, in my opinion.

I was thinking... What if F's ribbon is actually a small butterfly robot that also synchronizes with her expressions or reactions?

WHAT THE ACTUAL FLIPPING DOGS! THIS IS WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON?!? ANOTHER SURVEYMONKEY LINK, WITH COPIED PALETTES FROM COMMUNITY MEMBERS??? SERIOUSLY?



And the palettes chosen, is like saying: Pick only F, because it's the only one that blends, and is semi-sophisticated but clean. Not plain like H, and obtuse like E.

I have to agree. All this time could have been spent making more concept art. The expressions are a requirement, not a bonus, we could have a leak at any moment, there should be a summary of what Call is supposed to be(how support works, whether she's emotionless at first, maybe fighting stance without weapons).



They still haven't mentioned pink Call in the kickstarter updates either. I get that almost everybody should know by now, but twitter replies are not the same as official statements, not when so many still want her in.

I've said t before on the official forum but here are my guesses:



- the reason why Call F has a lot more material on display is because comcept intended to make her the official Call BEFORE they decided to gather different designs and let the community decide what they wanted.



- the artists who designed the three Call winners were allowed to draw/color whatever they wanted for the current poll. The guy who drew Call H was happy with her color scheme so he went for a back view, Call E's artist thought of giving her a different color palette and so on. So, in the end, it could've been a reflection on how much work each artist put into wanting the design to win. Dina mentioned that the 3D model of Call F was a personal effort from her designer, supporting my theory.



- the pink/Aero/Goggles Call wasn't supposed to be a Call design at all. I hope it's an entirely different character.



Of course, I could be wrong but that's how I'm viewing things.

I'm starting to believe this is the case and if so, they shouldn't have allowed the voting on the support character. They should have just went with it and actually gave us some information on the characters uses in-game.

Well, I don't mind, really. Call E has a group of supporters around so it makes for a nice competition, even if arguably unfair.
