Don't know who their website manager is but they are being paid for doing diddly squat as far as I can see.

whats funny is according to a friend, raven may know this person, but according to them the features are already there and they're being lazy as sin

Oh yeah, the mods exist and it's pretty easy to put them in. Hell, they could even hook up a phpBB install to Drupal if they felt inclined to do so.

so at this point they're just lying to us that its taking all this time or they have interns doing all this

I dunno to me it just seems like they can care less about the actual site, so many people mentioned great ideas that they just ignored completely. If they have someone who doesn't know what they're doing, there should be another person helping. I just think that if the site was going to change it would have at this point in time already. The forums have been up for months now...

That's the discussion that we were having elsewhere. As if from day one, the website was a place only for news, not any user consideration. And that comcept would not handle it, someone else would, and that was what Dina was hired for. Sigh. I wish the person I message could push that question.

But yeah, everyone that has been on web dev. before knows everything was there, just disabled. And all the modules are installable like legos. Sigh.

Quote from: TheCloudyEyeOn a related note, Dina's AMA is now down to 329 from the original 1500+

Most people probably missed it, but last night Dina lost her cool in the AMA thread.  Hopefully someone screen capped it.  Guy w/ the animaniacs av asked her why she deleted some guy's question and she got all flustered about people questioning mod edits and deletions.  Then they got talking about what was "fair" regarding warnings and strikes (which I am still unclear on) and she said something like, "ok, from now on, if a post is deleted for violating a forum rule, you can consider that a strike. How's that for fair?"  Then she promptly deleted the entire conversation.  Classy.

-ud

Wait?  So if something gets deleted if you happen to say something, that's a strike?  Really now.  Considering you are not informed in any way on how many strikes you have, that's a very lame way to strike someone.  I have about had it with this person running the official forums like it's her fucking playground.  I mean let's run through the list!

If a post gets deleted by an admin, that's a strike

If a post gets mod-edited, that's a strike

If we criticize Comcept or 8-4 in anyway on those forums, that's a strike.

If we do not word ourselves carefully on those forums, that's a strike

If we question why others get banned, that's a strike

If we stand up for ourselves, that's a strike

If we get into an argument like a heated debate, it gets looked at as a "flame war" and that's a strike

Oh and be careful if you make a joke/troll thread.  That's a strike as well.

Like WHAT ISN'T A STRIKE HERE?!  Sucking our thumbs and sitting in the corner?!

We paid money, MONEY WE EARNED THROUGH WORKING OUR FINGERS AT OUR PLACES OF EMPLOYMENT TO HELP THIS GAME COME TO BE AND BE ON THOSE FORUMS, but here we are on ANOTHER SITE!  Thanks to TheRaven for making literally a home away from home for us backers to come to and speak our minds and not be afraid of just either goofing off or either talking about game topics or serious topics.  However I just feel like we have been chased off, especially the ones who were banned for no reason and were never given a reason.

This was going to be the next part of my arguement considering that i've seen a lot of good ideas that have had no acknowledgement at all. Those forums aren't made for archiving data anyway because it's hard enough getting around and finding new posts.

The forum is my major turn-off with this project. It would have taken a day and a half tops for a busy web dev to come along, convert the users to *any forum system* and implement special features they felt they needed.

If I was collecting data for a project, I'd have a project management mod at least where I can save good posts / topics for finding later or converting to PDF, etc. At this rate, I don't see how the best ideas will get anywhere near the game.

Quote from: RibsHello everyone.

I'm not a backer, but I've been following this situation intently and have been doing a lot of reading and learning and thinking about this whole thing, and I'm absolutely shocked at how horrible things have gotten.

I'm saddened by how many people are misinformed, or refuse to be informed and simply take the word of sensationalist "news" like ScrewAttack, use opportunistic mockery made by Slowbeef, Eyeball and Seashells as the basis for their viewpoints, or see that awful, outdated InternetAristocrat video and proceed to disregard anyone who dislikes Dina. (While IA makes a few good points, the effectiveness of his video is drowned out by the blatant character assassination and passive-aggressive tone he has, and it doesn't accept the fact that the people that went hunting for a reason to hate her were wrong for doing so.)

So, I've decided that I wanted to do something- namely make a video that properly sums up the issues at hand without character-assassinating or whining or using harsh words(because more people will listen if we don't)- in order to make the best video I can that will succeed in getting information out to people and hopefully get the point across to everyone that we aren't bad people for disliking Dina- we just want a healthy community again.

If you wish to, I very much want whatever you can give to make this video the best thing it can be. I am not very skilled with video editing- my main goal will be to write a good script that another can work with. All of you that have been banned for awful reasons, all of you that haven't yet been banned, but still see the problem going on here, I want your help to show everyone the truth about Mighty No. 9's community.

How is this video going? Any news?

wonder how they would react, the community if someone told them the forum staff was lying to them about the difficulty of installing the modules

I mentioned it a while back when all of the controversy over forum features began and people didn't seem to take the info on at that point. While a dedicated topic might get some attention, I think it'd just be "handled" like everything else over there.

Ah, nice!  I figured someone else would have caught it before she deleted it!  What's funny is after she made this big stink about deleting things to avoid derailment, Betaman came in with a question and him and BSO derail the crap out of the thread :D

Another thing that is great about that thread is that it is far from "ask me anything!"  It's "ask me anything that doesn't have the potential to make me look bad!"  Which is even more humorous when considering that a skill in any job interview is to creatively make your weaknesses look like strengths when asked about them.  She should be mature about it and field any question, as the title welcomes, and turn even "troll" questions into ways to make herself look good to the community.
