Chrono Trigger: Resurrection isn't the only fangame project that Square C&D'ed. This one is even more tragic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_Trigger:_Crimson_Echoes

And Square is forever on my list for this. The game is about 98% complete when they got screwed by Square. The rom file of the final build was leaked a few years ago and it's still floating on the Internet. You will need an emulator to play it.

Can you believe it. The guys who worked on this spent 5 years making this. It was an attempt to bridge the plot of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, and they were going to release it for FREE. If anything, this will only increase the series' popularity, especially since we aren't getting any new Chrono title. I was really glad that someone decided to leak this out, otherwise all their hardwork would be for nothing.

Maybe if Capcom continued the X series something could be done about that. After X6's revelation and seeing how Sigma refuses to stay dead they could pull absolutely anything... But they most likely won't, because by the time Capcom decides to focus on Rockman again, Iris will be a character too distant or absent in the minds of their target audience, and thus they'll most likely keep X unfinished and make another new series.

Unless they decide to make a reboot of it and change the plot, which would piss off everyone.
