They are making a Movie of MN9:

Quote from: "Tim Carter"I was a little apprehensive about it at first until I got his notes, and thought ?Dude, you should be working at Pixar!

I am not so sure how it will fare, but knowing Contradiction Films, it will be contradictory to cannon.

For Backers, here is the proof:

[spoilerbox]Also, this should kill all doubt to those wondering if MN9 was not already scripted. I feel like we are on show, too surreal.[/spoilerbox]

Swan Dive

Oh NO! Anime would be much better in my opinion.

Like Rockman was always supposed to be. Is Keiji going all out in the interactive part of the gaming industry?

Ryusei

If by movie you mean documentary or fan made movie, maybe.

Otherwise, no way in hell.

Drop by the thread for more information. Dina gave an answer there.

After reading (and being happy about none of the KS money being used for this) I have to say that I'd have preferred it as an anime or CG movie. Live action is garbage when doing game stories.

Will keep an eye on this but it seems like such a waste of time right now.

TheRaven

Yeah i would have loved to see a anime movie, and not a live action one... But i suppose I'll give it a chance before judging it. xP

Just look at their filmography:

Talk about "Experienced professionals." More like Noobs to me. Honestly, on what money are they going to pay for Cinematic crew if not ours. I just can't swallow that statement from Dina.

Here is my major gripe: Why can news organizations learn of updates of MN9 first than US who paid for their project and housing? Why do hey have special treatment and not us? We had to learn the most stupid way too, a CEO that looked at the script leaked by bragging about his little experience in the field. Didn't he sign a fff'ing NDA like Dina "did"?

I am pissed, extremely. And because of the amount I donate, wanting to have direct access to the dev. team. I feel robbed and abused. And I really don't want to tolerate this any more. You will see me more often on MN9, because I am done with it.

Swan Dive

Man, seeing all this happening is really disappointing and sad. I'm especially feelin' for the backers on this too. The MN9 team really dropped the ball with their fans it seems.. :(

Yeah its becoming very clear that now that they never had any intention of taking the backers seriously from this kick-starter. We are constantly being snubbed at almost every turn. Heck there were people who never got to vote in the Call design and never got the vote emails that they just brushed off as far as we know. How come we never got to see the results of the votes and totals etc. I really question everything going on now. No surveys have been done yet they are already well into the alpha development of this game. The key points of development that our input might have mattered have been bypassed already. This is just a joke now.

Also even if he is not using backer money directly, that's just a matter of fungible http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fungibility assets conceptually. Its how I think they are using the backer money to cover debts on other projects while going slow on MN9 so they can use that money to cover costs, while they hope that they will get the money back from sales or projected sales of the other games they are working on.

While we're all wondering what's going on with all this new media around MN9, here's some related reading to get you all going.

Looks like MN9 is to become a multi-format IP. Quoted from Inafune himself, he said:

Quote from: Keiji Inafune Interview"I'd like there to be a comic book, manga, anime, movie, TV drama series," he said, regarding Mighty No. 9. "Any possibility you can think of."

Sounds like us MN9'ers are in for a long-haul of goods related to the game.

I'll say this though, Inafune-san must be seriously confident if he's planning on going all-out on MN9.

Swan Dive

Maybe he's having a mid life crisis and going all out.

LOL, more like end life. Oh well. Sales will be higher than ever, that's true. But no more money from me.

TrueMightyNo9fan out!

Knowing the huge risks involving live action adaptions, I hope the movie doesn't get beyond a mere idea. I don't get why people nowadays love live actions so much.
