lets hope they use that time to make the backgrounds more alive then a steril bland enviroment, and rework the UI as well as the graphics to a bit more cartoonish then plastic'ish.

But since i cant post nada on their "backers only" forums im out of luck.

TechnoWolf

I'm disappointed, I kinda told Comcept were looking like idiots with this update, and no mod edit.....

Not what official forum used to be....
'Cause Dina's gone, and nobody else got the ball to go full feminism. From what I've seen, only 4 mods remain active over there, and they're all the nicer ones of the bunch. Heat Man seems to have disappeared along with Dina.

A lot of people suggested that on the official forum as well, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

In other news, here's an interview with Nick Yu, the producer of MN9: http://www.engadget.com/2015/08/07/mighty-...ducer-on-delay/
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now, but there's something not quite right about his answers. I got a strange sense of deja vu from that article, but can't quite put my finger on it.

Strangely, that is the case, TheCloudyEye:

So i guese backers get involved in the making of this game was blown out of the water eh?

TechnoWolf

Considering the remaining backers are the Inafune fangirls that still wish Capcom hired him back as the megaman director that way they could have a new megaman game every year which is the same.

.... I just realized how "conflicted" the megaman fanbase was... no wonder why capcom stopped making games.

Actually I would have to disagree with that since I think that's one of the biggest problem with the game: trying to use the background to cover up the poor level designs.

There are plenty of places where there's plenty of details in the background, and it hurts the eyes:

It just feels like they are trying to fill up the background with random objects, buildings or lights to cover up how empty and barren the levels are, and it just doesn't work for me.

Worse, that background looks like it's made of only a handful of copy-and-pasted objects arranged in a monotonous pattern. This game just screams lazy design everywhere.

Well, practically every platformer devs go with the "copy-and-paste" method when building up their levels so can't really fault them on that.  But yeah, the more detail they put in the background the more noticeable the repeating pattern is.  I just find it ironic that the more work they put into the background, the worse the game looks.

TheCloudyEye

I am aware that copy-and-pasting is a common practice when it comes to level design, but normally there's always enough variation that you would hardly notice the copy-and-paste at a glance. Here the repetitive pattern literally slap you in the face and made the copy-and-pasted elements looks blatantly obvious. The lack of variation and repetitive nature of that background coupled with the squarish pattern shows that they put almost no thought in the design process at all and just stack everything on top of each other. I can say that they actually put any work into that background at all. Hell, even Storm Eagle's stage looks better than that. But it's still far from being the worst looking stage. Last I check Waterwork Bureau still look as much of an eyesore as what they've shown a year ago.

I admit, this is the first real pleasant surprise that I've seen coming out of this project. Since I did not have beta access, I'm looking forward to see for myself how the game feels.

And a free code for Mighty Gunvolt as well? Not a bad deal.

EDIT: On a different note, base on the reviews, the Steam version of Azure Striker Gunvolt sound like a broken mess. Let's hope that Mighty Gunvolt does not suffer from the same issues, but I'm not holding my breath.

TechnoWolf

Would love to speak about the last update

but I fear in my madness I deleted the last mail and automatically put everything comcept is
telling me in my spambox

(note : I do that a lot with people asking me for stuff, and women as well ... being organized is very important)

TheCloudyEye

Apparently they've already uploaded the trial version to Steam. Beta backers are reporting on the Steam forum that they can play the game already. Still no code for everyone else though.
