Quote from: "TechnoWolf"Considering the remaining backers are the Inafune fangirls that still wish Capcom hired him back as the megaman director that way they could have a new megaman game every year which is the same.

.... I just realized how "conflicted" the megaman fanbase was... no wonder why capcom stopped making games.

Yeah... Inafune kind of caused all that dissent to make bank on it later on...

TheCloudyEye

And now the game's soundtrack has been leaked:

Putting the entire soundtrack in a demo, what a brilliant idea.

TechnoWolf

You guys are gonna be responsible for the next delay

"We delayed the games because meanie mean meanies have been ripping our soundsies :'( => MN9 delayed until Q4 2018; sorry for our backers who can't wait for our awesome game "

TheCloudyEye

Breaking...*yawn* news, trial version of MN9 is delayed because of [insert reason here].

Man, can't they do ANYTHING right?  It's especially odd since there's a few people who managed to get the trial version early, so it's not like it's not playable.

TheCloudyEye

I think I have a theory for the current delay:
Because games normally cannot be removed from user's Steam library, this means that whoever have MN9 in their account will still have it after the game is officially released. On top of that, they will also be getting another copy on the platform of their choice, effectively earning them at least two copy of the game. This means whoever pick Steam as their platform of choice is screwed, since they already have it in their library. Comcept probably realized that with this trial version, they are essentially providing a free Steam copy of MN9 to every backers except for those who already choose to get their copy on Steam. Quite a conundrum they've gotten themselves into.

TechnoWolf

 What the shit ?!

I mean... HOW ?

I thought their game was near complete and just some bugs in the online mode was the reason of the delay...

... What is hapenning at Comcept ? can someone please get Mr. Inafune OFF THE DRUGS ?!!!

EDIT : do you think I can enter their kimokimo contest and try to make a robot that tries to grab everybody's money by doing a kickstarter campaign ?

Mighty No. 8392 The Brave already beat you to it. Mods were very swift to strike him down.

TechnoWolf

 Bummer.

I still did throw a little spike in their direction.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. Given the fact that some people managed to get access to the demo already and how they're trying to find other means for us to get the game DRM-free, I think the issue is with people possibly being able to get access to the full game via the demo if it was through Steam.

Plus "We've also been listening to your feedback about preferring to have a demo that is not time-limited."? First, I've  barely heard any complaints regarding the time limit restriction on the demo. And secondly, "listening to feedback"? Given the fact they ONCE AGAIN dropped the ball with communicating with backers, so soon after the whole Red Ash incident, I call big steaming pile of bull on that.

TechnoWolf

We're listening to your feedback, but policing it so only positive feedback can emerge from our shit management & developement. Happy ?

Ahoy, mattey, we got a date :

"Mighty No. 9 will release in North America on February 9th, 2016 and will release for the rest of the world on February 12th, 2016."

I'm legitimately surprised the release dates between America & Europe are this close...

after all... they are willing to add french voice acting

"oui oui, Beck ! vin croissant vin baguette baguette !"

My body is totally ready to hear their shakespearian dialogue in my native language

"Tu es tellement méchant, Ray !"
"MéchantE ! je suis une FEMME !! LA REPRÉSENTATION DES GENRES EST IMPORTANTE !!!!!"

... I'll let you do your research to see what this means, I'm sure you'll find it very quickly...

I don't even need to know French to know what it says, though I'm not sure if that's actual French or not.

Anyway, just got my demo today (guess I'm one of the lucky people, never had any problem with receiving stuff from them) and managed to complete all stages as well as the challenges. Will post a detailed analysis of it once I got some more time on my hand, but here are a few oddities I've noticed:
  • Instant-death trap can kill Beck even if he has mercy invincibility on like Mega Man 1.
  • Some enemies appears to have a weak-spot that if hit will cause them to destabilize instantly, which can potentially screw up your combo. So far, I've only found it on one enemy: the head of the screw-bot.
  • If you change your direction in mid-air during a dash-jump, Beck will lose his speed boost instantly unlike in Mega Man games where you maintain your speed boost no matter how many times you change direction in mid-air. This makes the dash-jump near useless.
  • It seems some component of Steamwork is still functioning. The game even recognize my Steam ID if I have Steam running even though I don't have it in my library.
  • Remember back when they announced the system requirements for the PC version and we all thought they were ridiculous. Well, they are ridiculous. I ran this demo on a laptop using Intel® Core i3 and a Intel® HD 3000 integrated graphic card. Everything looks exactly like in Comcept's videos, no graphical glitches or anything. At maximum graphic setting the frame rate drops a bit, but it runs very smoothly at lower setting (and I do not notice any significant differences between the highest and lowest settings). That is, except for the constant sudden frame drop every time an enemy or something new is introduced on the scene, causing the game to literally skip a few frames ahead, which means I have to play blind about 20% of the times. This is most likely a problem with code optimization.
By the way, I heard they almost dropped the ball again with that new release date. They might've dodged that bullet, but there's still another one (check backer's forum for more detail).

So much for "single player 100% done" then.

Eh. They're not one screw up short, yet, are they...?
